I thought that getting the re-built engine into the Westfield chassis was going to be a lengthy business.................. |

Brenda wielded the spanners (she said she thought she had better show me how to do it ) |
But she complained she could'nt find the on/off button on the spanner (now I'm in trouble!!). |

After cleaning 16 rockers, 16 valves, 16 pushrods, 2 rockershafts and after the heads had new sports valve guides fitted it all came together nicely in one lump. |
With new cam followers and a coat or two of engine enamel it started to look the part anyway!! I also sourced Range Rover exhaust manifolds from a breakers and after cleaning and painting with high temperature paint I bolted those in place. |

Now work could begin on the body , first the rear wings had to be bolted on . |
And then the rear lights installed and wired up. |

The body was then dropped onto the chassis and with a bit of persuasion it clicked into place (hope I don't have to take it off again !). And the roll-bar was fitted to hold it in place. |
Then the scuttle was bolted in place(lots of measuring to make sure!) And the dash was trial fitted ,also I shortened the gear change and made a knob for it.(amazing what you can do with a bit of an old oak fence post!!) |
